San Marino High School’s award-winning Marching Band held its annual showcase on Friday night in Titan Stadium, where the ensemble performed a dry run of its halftime show and the routine it will use during its many competitions this fall.
The event was well-attended by supporters and included a dinner that was held in advance of the showcase. This year’s Marching Band show theme is “Chain Reaction.” It is a musical interpretation of a Rube Goldberg machine, where each part — or musical section, in this case — is integral to the design and completion of a beautiful piece of music.
The Marching Band will person during the Titan football team’s games, the season-opener being Friday evening, Aug. 19, at home against Norwalk.
