Sycamores’ ‘Light Up the Night’ Event Is Sure to Shine

Sycamores is hosting its spring event, “Light Up the Night,” on Saturday, May 6.
Guests at the outdoor event will enjoy a dinner catered by Claud Beltran & Company and a performance by Grammy and Tony nominee Shoshana Bean, known for her roles as Elphaba in Broadway’s “Wicked,” Jenna in “Waitress,” as well as playing Billy Crystal’s daughter Susan in “Mr. Saturday Night.” Silent and live auctions will be held under the city stars and lights.
The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and concludes at 10 p.m. A stunning art installation celebrating Sycamores’ recent 120th anniversary — and the generosity of Sycamores supporters — will also be unveiled at the event.
Light Up the Night is a wonderful opportunity to come together and celebrate, while at the same time helping create a better life for vulnerable children, young adults and families in our community. Guests will hear stories from individuals who are hopeful about their futures after receiving services from Sycamores.
“It is vital that we shine light on the mental health issues that so many individuals struggle with — because the good news is there is help available,” said Sycamores President and CEO Debra Manners. “We are looking forward to joining with our friends and partners to Light Up the Night on May 6.”
Funds raised from the event will support Sycamores’ many behavioral health programs, including its short-term residential treatment program for boys in foster care separated from their families and experiencing mental health challenges.
The Light Up the Night committee is co-chaired by Pasadena residents Rita Henderson and Jan Emamian. Formerly the Community Affairs Manager for Nestlé USA, Henderson is a longtime Sycamores donor and supporter. Real estate agent Emamian leads the Pasadena-based Emamian Team and serves on Sycamores board of directors.
