San Marino Motor Classic Weekend Set for Aug. 26-27

Street banners are flying on Huntington Drive in San Marino creating a festive mood for the 12th annual San Marino Motor Classic, which will be held at Lacy Park on Sunday, Aug. 27. Meanwhile, a Symphony of Cars Gala will be celebrated on Saturday evening, Aug. 26.

The Motor Classic is a prestigious Concours d’Elegance including a Concorso Ferrari, where many of the world’s finest classic cars are on display and are judged.

Spectators can vote for their favorite to win a special award. Food trucks, vendors and the Automotive Fine Arts Society exhibit will enhance the event. Tickets are $45 in advance and $50 on the event day; children under 12 are admitted free. Purchase a VIP ticket for $175 and indulge in a shaded seating area where a buffet lunch and adult beverages are served and then watch the Awards Ceremony.

The 2023 Motor Classic weekend will also include the Symphony of Cars Gala, a tour of an exotic car collection, and the Automotive Fine Arts Society exhibit on Saturday, Aug. 26. The gala is a charitable event that supports the Cancer Support Community of San Gabriel Valley. It is an evening that includes an open bar, gourmet dinner with B Cellars Wine, live music and a presentation of classic cars. Tickets to the gala are $300 and must be purchased in advance.

The San Marino Motor Classic is presented by Rusnak Auto Group, the Symphony of Cars Gala is hosted by David Lee and Hing Wa Lee Jewelers, and the Automotive Fine Arts Society exhibit is hosted by Bonhams and Berkshire Hathaway Team Janice Lee.

“A great time: classic cars, food and drinks, artwork, and vendors — all for charity,” an event statement said. “The San Marino Motor Classic is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that has awarded more than $2.5 million to local charities including Pasadena Humane, San Marino Rotary Charities, Give-Mentor-Love Foundation, Rose Bowl Aquatics Center and Cancer Support Community of San Gabriel Valley.”
