East Meets West Parent Education Club hosted its annual beach cleanup event recently at Junipero Beach in Long Beach.
This was an all-ages beach cleanup day perfect for kids and adults to get outside and socialize at their local state park all while making a difference for the environment on Saturday, Oct. 7.
At this three-hour volunteer event, the participants combed the beach to pick up as much trash as possible — ranging from cigarette butts to plastics — and became aware of the impact of waste-related pollution. During the event, some of the local beachgoers even thanked the volunteers for their service and asked to learn more about the club.
