San Marino Police Arrest Suspect in Home Burglary

The San Marino Police Department received a call from a resident in the 1700 block of Sharon Place who observed an unknown person walking around the rear of their property and inside the residence through their security cameras on Dec. 1 at approximately 5:17 p.m.

As officers arrived at the location, a vehicle was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed without any lights on. Officers caught up to the vehicle, which had covered license plates, and initiated a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Sycamore Drive. As the vehicle pulled over, a male subject exited the vehicle and ran into the backyard of a residence and out of sight. The driver, a woman from Long Beach, was taken into custody.

A containment was set to find the male suspect with assistance from the San Gabriel Police Department, the Alhambra Police Department and the South Pasadena Police Department. A search of the area was conducted and the male suspect was not located. The female suspect was booked on charges of residential burglary.

This is an ongoing investigation and if anyone has additional information, they should contact the San Marino Police Department at (626) 300-0720. Information may also be provided as an anonymous tip via lacrimestoppers.com or (800) 222-8477.
