San Marino Rotary Club Names Honoree for Service

The San Marino Rotary Club has announced that Mei-Lee Ney will be honored at the 43rd annual Paul Harris Luncheon, in recognition of her outstanding service and philanthropy. The event will be held on Thursday, March 14, at the Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Ney, a native of Shanghai, China, has made significant contributions to the community through her volunteering and generous support. She holds various leadership positions and is actively involved in numerous educational, community and arts organizations, reflecting the Rotary motto of “service above self.” Currently, she serves as chair of the board of trustees for Otis College, trustee of Huntington Library and member of the board of the USC Pacific Asia Museum, to name a few.

Barbara Bice, president of the San Marino Rotary Club, expressed admiration for Ney’s humble personality and her remarkable influence on the community.

“Mei-Lee has had an immense impact on our community, and we appreciate all she does,” said Bice. “We are thrilled that Mei-Lee is this year’s Paul Harris award recipient.”

The annual luncheon not only aims to honor individuals like Ney but also to inspire others to follow in her footsteps. Over the past 50 years, the San Marino Rotary has recognized 72 men and women for their philanthropic efforts, communicating their good works to a wide audience.

In addition to honoring Ney, the luncheon will feature speaker Anna Enger, a former Rotary Grant Scholar, who will share her experiences studying in France thanks to the scholarship. Enger graduated from Barnard College in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in urban studies, and from the Paris Institute of Political Studies in 2022 with a master’s degree in international governance and diplomacy.
