Flamingos Return to Lawns in Support of Grad Night

The famous Grad Night flamingos are back in San Marino, adorning the front lawns of homes across town. The so-called “flockings” are an annual tradition to raise funds for the San Marino High School graduation party.

These whimsical birds can be requested by emailing a name and address to SMHSflocking@gmail.com, and a team of “flockers” will decorate the resident’s front lawn sometime between now until the end of April, with the end date subject to change.

This will be SMHS Grad Night’s 69th year, and the theme will be “Ratatouille,” which is a 2007 animated film about a rat named Remy who dared to dream of becoming a chef.

To help support Grad Night, participants can request a “Flamingo Flocking” or simply send a donation check payable to SMHS PTSA (Grad Night) to the high school at 2701 Huntington Drive, San Marino 91108. Supporters can also Zelle their donation to (626) 831-3288 and write “Flocking” in the comment line.

Donations are 100% tax deductible, and for any donation of more than $100, the donor will be recognized in the Grad Night program and will receive a small gift while supplies last.
