Villa Esperanza Goes ‘Wild’

Embark on a wild adventure with Villa Esperanza Services at its annual fundraising gala on Saturday, April 27.

This year’s theme, “Wild About Villa,” celebrates the organization’s passionate commitment to providing love, care and hope for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

The gala will be held at Pasadena’s Langham Huntington Hotel, where about 200 guests are expected to enjoy cocktail hour, a silent and live auction, and dinner.

As part of the evening’s festivities, Richard Mooney of Kensington Caterers will be honored. He has been a steadfast supporter of Villa’s mission for about 20 years, generously donating to the capital campaign and program support. Over the years his live auction item donations have raised thousands of dollars.

“Richard is a wonderful Villa ambassador in the community, featuring Villa in his catering newsletters and website, and a dedicated friend of Villa,” said Villa Esperanza CEO Kelly White. “We are pleased to honor him for all he has done for our children, adults and seniors with intellectual/developmental differences.”

The premier gala sponsors include Tracy and Dick Hirrel, Lisa and Tim Sloan, Chris Benter, Ricki and Joel Robinson, Debby and Juan Casillas, Chang and Lee, and GGA+.

Meanwhile, event committee members include Taylor Casillas, Kathy Cunningham, Katie Hamrick, Susan Jackson, Penny Ledbetter, Lia Peterson Miller, Marcie Robinson, Maryann Seduski, Liz Seitz, Sarah Soifer, Casey Solomon and Melissa Wu.

Sponsorships for the event are available as well as tickets. Event tickets are $300 each and include cocktails, dinner and valet parking. Tickets may be purchased online at BuyTickets.VillaES.org or by calling (626) 449-2919, ext. 135. All event proceeds benefit Villa’s diverse programs for individuals with special needs.

Villa Esperanza Services, established in 1961, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing love, care and hope for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Villa “creates a transformative environment to empower neurodivergent children, adults and seniors to reach their fullest potential and lead fulfilling lives,” according to a press release. “At Villa, we are passionate advocates working to forge pathways to a lifetime of independence and hope for people with special needs.”
