SMFD Lends a Hand in Monrovia Fire

San Marino Fire Department investigators Jason Sutliff and Mike White responded to a multifamily dwelling unit fire on the 600 block of Foothill Boulevard in Monrovia on May 10.

The Monrovia and Arcadia fire departments responded to the residential unit fire at about 8:24 p.m., and San Marino investigators were dispatched at 9:19 p.m. to investigate the cause and origin of the fire.

Eventually, investigators determined that the fire originated from a candle left unattended in the home. The South Pasadena arson canine team assisted the investigators.
