Bruce Pretzinger

Bruce Pretzinger passed away peacefully on June 10, 2023, at Eisenhower Hospital in Rancho Mirage, California.  He was surrounded by Cheryl, his wife of 57 years, his two children, Craig and Lisa, his daughter-in-law, Christiane Pretzinger, his son-in-law, Jon Wedhoff, and his six grandchildren, Isabella, Kenzo, Kaden, Rory, Pyper, and Guinness.

Bruce was born December 15, 1940, in Los Angeles, CA.  Growing up in Alhambra, he attended Mark Keppel High School and the University of Southern California, majoring in business finance.  He was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity where he made many life-long friends.

Bruce and his wife Cheryl moved to San Marino in 1969 and their children attended San Marino Schools.  He was active in his children’s activities, San Marino Community Church, San Marino Rotary, as well as Trojan Coaches Club and Pasadena Quarterbacks, where he served as president of both.  He was a stockbroker with Dean Witter for 14 years before becoming a Registered Investment Advisor, starting his own firm in Pasadena. He retired to the desert to pursue his love of golf.

Bruce was a kind man, who loved USC football, his friends and family, and was known for his distinctive sense of humor.  His family will be celebrating his life together in August. He would love for all to remember him with a toast of his favorite cocktail…a margarita.

Donations in his honor may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research
