San Marino City Council Approves New Wetherby Wall

By Krista Daly

An appeal by Wetherby Rd. residents Junli Xu and Janet Yang concerning the construction of a block wall on their property was approved by the San Marino City Council at their Wednesday, March 11 meeting.

The proposal had gone previously before the San Marino Design Review Committee, who approved the plan as well as the Planning Commission, who said the wall was incompatible with the neighborhood because of the colors and material. The planned wall is twenty feet from the street, with the front section at seven inches high and the back section at 27 inches, Xu said.
