An extreme rock musical is coming to the Pasadena Playhouse called “A Night with Janis Joplin.”
This production emphasizes Joplin’s greatest musical influences, such as Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Odette, Nina Simone and Bessie Smith. All named will be played by a group of high-powered women who come from Broadway, said Kacee Clanton, who alternates playing Joplin.
Sharon Brown, Yvette Cason, Sylvia MacCalla and Jenelle Lynn Randall play these influential ladies.
