Like the school year that awaits them, San Marino High School’s 26-member Associated Student Body, or ASB, enjoyed a fun, serious, quiet, boisterous, relaxed, hectic five-day leadership retreat at UC San Diego this week.
“The student leaders and I had an opportunity to bond, work on goals and plan many of our events in an uninterrupted manner,” said ASB Advisor Jose Cairé. “The ability to attend this annual retreat really gives us an edge and allows us the time to work prior to hitting the ground running from the minute the school year begins.”
The ASB members, made up of representatives from all four classes under the leadership of President Emma Tam, held meetings in a private conference area, took part in games and activities that were fun, challenging and contained a leadership purpose and discussed the goals of the organization. A rock climbing expedition was among the week’s more scintillating activities.
