The San Marino Library Foundation’s ‘Delicious Destinations’ will return this year on Sat., Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Crowell Public Library.
“After our last event, we conducted a poll and asked the community to weigh in where our next destination should be, and Mexico and Japan were the clear favorites,” said Steve Domier, president of the Library Foundation.
Hors d’oeuvres will be served by Alexander’s Meats and sushi will be made by a master sushi chef.
“Personally, I’m thrilled, because they’re two of my favorite types of food, and I’m really looking forward to the sushi chef,” Domier added.
Howie’s Market will provide drinks for the evening, which will also include a tequila tasting station.
Though the live entertainment has not been finalized yet, the evening’s master of ceremonies will be chef and television personality Eric Boardman, host of the Food Network’s “Calling All Cooks.”
“We’re very excited to have the multi-talented Eric Boardman back as our emcee this year. He hosted our event a few years ago, and was a huge hit with everyone, so we were thrilled when he agreed to return this year,” said Domier.
Guests will also be able to participate in a silent auction and opportunity drawing. Items up for bid include a one-week Cayman Islands vacation, VIP passes to MOCA, a gift certificate to La Grande Orange, and much more.
“This annual event is such a great way for the community to get together to see old friends, enjoy a wonderful evening of food, drink and entertainment, and generously raise money to support our local library,” Domier noted.
“Plus, it’s the only time all year when you can talk loudly in the library and not get ‘shushed,’” he added.
