San Marino Woman Being Treated After Car Pins Her

A 51-year-old San Marino woman has had numerous surgeries at Huntington Memorial Hospital after being struck and pinned by a car in town last week.
At 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, as the woman was using an ATM at Chase Bank on Huntington Drive, a 69-year-old Pasadena woman was parking in front of the bank when she struck another car and mistakenly pressed her car’s accelerator instead of its brakes. Her car jumped the curb and pinned the San Marino woman to the ATM by her legs.
By the time first responders arrived at the scene, the driver had already backed her car away from the victim. Incontro said the victim has had multiple surgeries as recently as Monday. He added that at this point in the investigation, he did not believe he would charge or cite the driver, who was not intoxicated.
“At this point, there’s nothing [criminal], but we’re still investigating,” he said.
The San Marino Fire Department and officers with Alhambra Police Department also responded to this incident.
