President Mona Mapel and San Marino League members held their holiday party recently at a private club in Pasadena. The event served as a special way to celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah as well as kick off the League’s fundraising benefit “Art Matters 2018” coming May 4-6 at the Botanical Center of the Huntington Library.
Art Matters 2018 is a juried art exhibition featuring the work of prominent artists and photographers. The net proceeds from the art sale will be donated in equal parts to the group’s two philanthropies: Art Center College of Design Fine Arts Scholarships and to the endowment fund for the Japanese Garden at the Huntington Library.
The San Marino League is a nonprofit, philanthropic organization committed to strengthening art education and experiences for children and adults in the community. The league accomplishes this by providing volunteer docents for the Japanese Garden at the Huntington Library and for Art Center College of Design.
