Three Charged After Homeowner Is Shot

Three people have been charged with what police said were “multiple felonies” after being arrested Tuesday for allegedly shooting one man and attacking another during a Monday robbery at a home near Montrose Community Park.
On Tuesday, the Glendale Police Department arrested a 24-year-old man from Saint Bernard, Louisiana; a 22-year-old woman from Violet, Louisiana; and a 26-year-old man from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. According to Sgt. Christian Hauptmann with GPD, the two men are being held on $2 million bail and the woman on $250,000 bail. At least one of the suspects is charged with attempted murder.
The trio has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Nov. 5.
Police responded to the home in the 2000 block of Broadview Avenue in the Montrose-Montecito Park area at around 9:45 p.m. Monday, according to GPD. One of the homeowners had been shot with a handgun, while the second had been physically struck in the head by the weapon itself, officers said. Both were hospitalized for their injuries and are stable, GPD reported.
The suspects had fled by the time police arrived, Hauptmann said, and had taken a cellphone and smart watch. They had entered the home prior to the confrontation with homeowners, he added.
Hauptmann said it was unclear why the three suspects were in Glendale.
