Soroptimist International of San Marino, Alhambra and San Gabriel is currently taking applications for women who are eligible to apply for its Live Your Dream education and training cash awards.
The process begins at the club level, where monetary awards are presented in descending order, depending on the number of awards dispensed. The amount of the first award would be no less than $1,000. The first award recipient will become eligible to receive a more substantial region-level cash award. If she is chosen by the judges as an award recipient, she would receive no less than $3,000. If she is a first-place winner at the region level, she will advance to the federation level for consideration.
The Live Your Dream Awards are unique educational grants for women who provide the primary financial support for their families. Eligible applicants must be enrolled in — or have been accepted to — a high school equivalency, vocational, technical or undergraduate degree program, and must demonstrate a financial need.
The Live Your Dream Awards give women the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects. Recipients may use the cash award to offset any cost associated with their efforts to attain higher education, including books, childcare and transportation.
