Cub Scouts Camp Out at Lacy Park

San Marino Cub Scout Pack 354 recently held its Lacy Park Campout on April 23-24 after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The campout is an annual tradition for Pack 354 and transforms Lacy Park into a campground for Cub Scouts and their families. This year also marks the first year the campout has included Cub Scouts from the pack’s newly formed girls’ dens, which were established during the pandemic in 2020.

More than 300 Cub Scouts and their families and friends attended this year’s event. Campers and guests were treated to games, crafts, a taco dinner and a campfire program under the stars, complete with “flameless” s’mores, skits performed by the pack’s dens, campfire songs and demonstrations, including a presentation from the San Marino Fire Department on fire safety and how to properly retire the American flag.

The lively evening closed with solemn sounds of taps played by Arton Lin, a scout from San Marino Troop 351.
