Stroud Retires After 52-Year Career

Over the years, he saw patients who had first come to him as children grow well through adulthood. As the years flew by, the children of those patients became patients themselves, all being seen at the same Tudor-style brick building.

The family dental practice has always been a source of pride and joy for Dr. Kenneth Stroud, who enjoyed sharing stories with his patients and their families. And on Thursday, July 21, this exclusively San Marino story will come to an end.

During his long career, Stroud and his wife, Linda, raised six children, and are now the proud grandparents of 13 children spread across the country.

“Retirement will give us time to travel and be with our family,” said Linda Stroud. “San Marino will miss this institution of dentistry.”

Stroud opened his doors at 2437 Huntington Drive in 1970, following graduation from USC and the USC School of Dentistry. A native son, Stroud attended Carver Elementary School, Huntington Middle School — then known as San Marino Junior High — and eventually San Marino High School, where he received his diploma in 1962.

If it weren’t for the needs of his ever-growing family, Stroud said he might have eschewed an automobile as he enjoyed his daily walk to his office.

Stroud will miss this extended family, as well as his longtime dental assistants Barbara Austin and Irene Trivia.
