Welcome back to school, San Marino Titans!
I am excited and honored to represent San Marino High School as the 2022-23 PTSA President. I grew up in San Marino and attended Carver, HMS and SMHS. As a parent of four sons, three of whom graduated from SMHS (’15, ’17 and ’21) and an incoming junior, I have seen firsthand how well San Marino High School supports our children and prepares them for their future.
San Marino High School offers so many opportunities for our children. Whether they are a musician, artist, athlete, dancer, or want to pursue more academic challenges they can find it all at SMHS. There are many clubs to join, teams to try out for and activities to participate in. Your child can be part of ASB, Athletics, Band, Choir, Dance, Drama, Robotics, Speech and Debate and much more. They can try something new or continue pursuing the sport or activity they have enjoyed for years. Be sure to attend SMHS Showcase in November where you can learn more about what SMHS has to offer.
Plan to get involved and become a member of SMHS PTSA. Our PTSA supports many enrichment programs including academics, technology, visual and performing arts, athletics and activities that benefit our students. Our parent and community involvement is what makes all of this possible. We are fortunate to be a part of a community where everyone supports the success of our children with their time and talent.
Join us at our first SMHS PTSA Association meeting on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 9 a.m. in the SMHS cafeteria to hear what is happening at SMHS and learn about ways to get involved. Save the date for our upcoming Parent Party, California Love, Saturday, Sept. 17. Come enjoy the evening with other parents and faculty while supporting SMHS. You don’t want to miss it!
On behalf of the SMHS PTSA, I would like to thank our volunteers for their countless hours and dedication that make SMHS such a wonderful place for our children. I would like to personally thank the PTSA Executive Board, Committee Chairs, faculty, staff, counselors, Principal Jason Kurtenbach, Assistant Principal Carlos Kassam Clay and Director of Student Services David Irie for everything they are doing and continue to do to achieve excellence at SMHS.

Nicolette Fuerst is the SMHS PTSA President for 2022-2023.
