The annual All City Track Meet in San Marino has been a place for all the residents of this great city to meet and gather ― to see the effort of their children’s preparation and their spirit during the competitions — and create a lifetime of memories for all those participants.
However, inclement weather had delayed this annual city meet and resulted in schedule conflicts with other programs at school. As the world moved forward, children wrote emails to the recreational department director to explain how depriving them of their annual ritual toward adulthood would affect them.
Ultimately, “small town” San Marino came through and was able to work with the children to make small adjustments and open up the possibilities of holding the event with all the scheduled events.
With this, I would think San Marino can be an even better place for all. Imagine City Hall working with the school district, recreation department, as well as police and fire departments to make this city a better place to live, while providing an excellent education for their children.
I would like to thank Ms. Angie Padilla and the track meet director for listening and making appropriate changes for the residents of this city. They are setting a great example.
