The 4th-graders at Valentine Elementary enjoyed Colonial Day on Friday, March 18, as part of their U.S. history lesson.
During the yearlong study, as well as learning the historical facts of the beginnings of the nation, students gained a better appreciation of the responsibilities of children during that time period.
This annual tradition included fun activities like crafting cornhusk dolls, butter and candle making, writing with quills and experiencing the simplicity of that era’s toys.
The event ended with a special luncheon.
