The San Marino High School varsity girls’ tennis team started its season with back-to-back nonleague wins, defeating Campbell Hall High of North Hollywood 11-7 on Sept. 6.
In the doubles matches, the No. 1 team of Kate Chung and Mia Lin swept with 6-4, 6-0 and 6-4 victories. Meanwhile, in singles, No. 1 Carina Yang and No. 3 Katie Hoang each won two sets by scores of 6-4 and 6-1.
The No. 2 tandem of Kate Kohn and Olivia Hsu secured a pair of 6-2 victories, while the No. 3 duo of Selene Yung and Audrey Ranabarger added 7-5 and 6-4 wins.
The Titans (2-0 overall) will open Rio Hondo League action at Temple City on Sept. 21 at 4 p.m. before visiting La Cañada on Sept. 26.
