The San Marino High School varsity girls’ tennis team delivered a commanding performance in a Rio Hondo League match on Oct. 5, routing host Monrovia with a score of 17-1. The Titans impressively won 102 games out of the possible 106 available.
The No. 1 team of Katie Hoang and Sarah Tran, the No. 2 tandem of Olivia Hsu and Kate Kohn, and the No. 3 pairing of Audrey Ranabarger and Selene Yung, along with alternates Alexa Hong and Taylor Hong, all swept their sides.
In singles action, No. 1 Carina Yang won a set with a score of 6-0 before alternating with Emily Xue, who added a pair of 6-0 victories. No. 2 Mia Lin swept her opponents with scores of 6-2, 6-0 and 6-0. No. 3 Angela Wang secured two sets with scores of 6-1 before forfeiting the third round.
The undefeated Titans (7-0 overall, 5-0 league) will host La Cañada in a league rematch on Oct. 12 before visiting Blair High in Pasadena on Oct. 17.

In singles play, No. 1 Hoang swept with scores of 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0. No. 2 Yang swept with scores of 6-0, 6-2 and 6-0, while No. 3 Lin also swept with scores of 6-2, 6-1 and 6-2.
In doubles action, the No. 1 team of Yung and Ranabarger swept with scores of 6-3, 6-2 and 6-3. The No. 2 tandem of Tran and Hsu swept with scores of 6-1, 6-3 and 6-1, while the No. 3 duo of Kate Chung and Wang also swept with scores of 6-3, 6-3 and 6-0.
