San Marino Police Department Crime Report Dec. 24 – Jan. 6

Police were called to the 800 block of Canterbury Road to take a report after a paramedic, who was providing medical service to a patient, was struck by the patient at 5:50 a.m. on Dec. 28. No arrests were made.

Suspects are still at large in a residential burglary that took place in the 1900 block of Marino Terrace at 2:48 p.m. on Dec. 28. According to police, unknown suspects entered a home in the area through an open garage door. Miscellaneous items were reported stolen. Police said that no suspects were located due to a time delay in reporting. Two other residential burglaries were reported on Dec. 28. The second was located in the 500 block of Huntington Drive at 8:22 p.m. and the third was in the 1500 block of Chelsea Road at 10:53 p.m. No losses were reported for either incident.

Police responded to an attempted residential burglary in the 2100 block of Lombardy Road at about 10 a.m. on Jan. 2. Officials said no suspects were located due to a significant time delay.

A vehicle burglary was reported after gardening equipment was stolen from a locked vehicle in the 2700 block of Huntington Drive at 10:11 on Jan. 2. No suspects were located.

Police were called to the scene of a hit-and-run near Huntington Drive and St. Albans Road at 4:39 p.m. on Jan. 4. The vehicle in question collided into another vehicle and fled the scene.

The San Marino Police Department had 1318 calls for service between Sunday, Dec. 24, and Saturday, Jan. 6. There were 4 residential burglaries in this time frame. The year 2023 closed with 55 residential burglaries, while there has been one in 2024. Information was gathered from a department memorandum summarizing key incidents handled during this period.
