Students Receive Rotary Youth Leadership Awards

San Marino Rotary welcomed eight students from San Marino High School and Southwestern Academy in conjunction with its District 5300 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards at Running Springs recently.

Committee chair Tony Chou helped find and select candidates and informed the honorees about their accolades.

Seven of the students attended a recent regular Rotary meeting and “took over,” according to Bill Payne, by conducting the meeting and sharing their experiences.

“This annual mountain top experience introduces future school leaders to skills and methods they will need to be effective in their rolls when seniors,” Payne said.

Rotarians who served as adult counselors were Grant Fukiwara, incoming Rotary Club President Paul Brassard, Gilda Moshir and Mike Driebe.
